Abstract
746,109. Valve amplifiers. TELEFUNKEN GES., [formerly TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE]. Jan. 28, 1954 [Jan. 28, 1953], No. 2675/54. Class 40 (6). A wide-band amplifier is given a step-shaped frequency characteristic by means of negative feedback, which is effective only in the lowfrequency range. In a video amplifier the desired result is obtained by means of an impedance network in the cathode circuit, comprising series-connected resistor 8 and inductance 9, together with a shunt condenser 10. Another embodiment giving a sharper step, Fig. 5 (not shown) utilizes a three-section lowpass filter terminated at the end remote from the valve. The filter elements may be made variable so as to adjust the frequency and/or height of the step. The arrangement is more particularly intended for use in a television receiver of the vestigial side-band type.
