[Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXXV] A transformer for operating a vapour or gas filled discharge lamp has two dissimilar secondary windings 12, 13 one to develop high voltage-1,500 volts-for striking the arc the other to develop normal running voltage, 650 volts. The second is connected in circuit by a manually or thermal controlled switch.
