Abstract
486,705. Arc lamps. PUNSKI, I. Aug. 20, 1937, Nos. 22883 and 22884. Conven. tion dates, Aug. 22, 1936 and Oct. 28, 1936. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXXV] In an installation comprising more than one light-projecting arc the arcs are fed by a separately excited generator and an auxiliary source of current is provided to supply the extra current required during the striking of the second arc when changing over from one arc to another. In the arrangement shown the two arcs A1, A2 are provided with interrupter switches C1, C2 and a battery D can be put in circuit with either of them by means of a switch B, the battery D and generator G being then in parallel. The generator G has a separately excited winding E and may also have a countercompound series winding.
