Abstract

519,674. Shuttleless looms. UNITED ELASTICS Ltd., and VORCK, T. Sept. 19, 1938, No. 27275. [Class 142 (ii)]' The weft inserter 6 is adjustably fixed at 23 on an arm 15 fixed to a block 16 free to slide in a guide 11 more or less parallel with the warp threads 4, this guide being moved at right angles to the threads by a rod 9. The block 11 carries a pin 14 which engages a fixed cam 13 which causes the eye 7 of the weft inserter to move in a curved path 6a. The weft is directed by a bent-up piece of steel wire 21 towards a latch knitting needle 17 which draws it through the loop of the previous double weft. Specification 518,340 is referred to.
