Abstract
519,570. Sulphur trioxide. SOC. DES. PRODUITS AZOTES. June 24, 1938, No. 18842. Convention date, June 28, 1937. [Class 1 (i)] A gaseous mixture containing at least 30 per cent. of sulphur dioxide and enough oxygen to combine therewith is passed over an active catalyst and the sulphur trioxide produced is separated by direct condensation. The gases may be treated in several stages with removal of the product after each, or they may be recirculated over the same catalyst. Specification 12028/89, [Class 55], is referred to.
