[Class 122 (iii)] [Also in Groups XXXI, XXIV and XXXIII] In the elastic suspension of motor or gearbox units on vehicles, boats &c. wherein a rubbermetal coupling (i:e. rubber bonded to metal plates &c.) is provided for transmitting the drive, such coupling is employed as one of the elastic supports or cushioning elements. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a combined motor and gearbox unit 1, 2 on a motor vehicle is supported on a rubber-metal part-ring 3 arranged in a plane transverse to the crank-shaft and passing through the centre of gravity of the unit, the rubber-metal transmission coupling 4 serving as a stabilizing device. On a motorboat, Fig. 2, the power unit is shown attached at its front end to the hull 6 by a rubber-metal mounting 4<1> and supported at its rear end by the rubbermetal transmission coupling 4. A further construction is shown wherein, on a motor vehicle, the gearbox, separately from the engine, is provided with transverse arms resting on rubbermetal mounts on the side members of the chassis frame, the arrangement being stabilized by rubber-metal transmission couplings provided in the drive both to and from the gear box. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also the application to a motor bicycle, This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
