[Class 52 (v)] Curtains and valances or like draperies are supported on window or other' structures by brackets of rounded contour having one side fixed to the lintel and the other side, which-. is deeper, fixed to the jamb, the ends of the valance being-given a.rounded contour and the ends of the curtain either a rounded contour or a straight outline. As shown, the brackets each have flanges 3, 4, Figs. 2 and 3, for securing to the jamb and lintel and have a groove 6 and a fastening loop 9 for the valance support. The curtain support may be held in position by a loop 13 so as to avoid fouling of the valance when the curtain is drawn. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the curtain support passes along a groove 15 to a loop 16 and receives a rounded contour similar to the valance. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown) the groove 6, is replaced by a step-like formation or by a series of outward projections. Intermediate brackets may be provided particularly in connection with bay windows to. resist the stress of the valance and curtain supports. Such a bracket is shown in Fig. 7 wherein one arm 22 clears the top of the valance 24 and suitably engages the valance support 25, or as shown in Fig. 8, the arm 22 may engage a ring 27 on' the valance. A lower arm 23 holds the curtain support and may be provided with a spring head to meet the varying angles occurring in different types of bay windows.
