515,017. Mounting lamps on overhead cables. SOC. ANON. POUR LES APPLICATIONS DE L'ELECTRICITE ET DES GAZ RARESETABLISSEMENTS CLAUDE-PAZ & SILVA. May 20. 1938, No. 15127. Convention date, March 31. [Class 75 (iii)] Electric discharge tubes 3 for illuminating overhead high tension cables are supported above a cable 1 by an insulator 4, attached to the. cable as by a clamp 5, one electrode 11 being connected to the cable by a lead 12 passing through the insulator and the other electrode 10 with a capacity element 6 suspended from the socket 2 by curved arms 7 encircling the cable. The tube 3 is protected by a globe 9 and is coiled upon an extension 14 of the insulator. A stabilizing resistance 13 may be interposed in the lead 12 and the capacity effect of the element 6 may be augmented by means of an auxiliary cable disposed parallel to the cable 1.
