513,335. Fluid-pressure brakes. BOSCH GES., R. (formerly BOSCH AKT.-GES., R.). April 7, 1938, No. 10607. Convention date, April 7, 1937. [Class 103 (i)] A brake control valve more particularly for a trailer brake controlled by the train pipe .2 from the tractor and by the pressures in the trailer auxiliary reservoir 3 and trailer brake cylinder 4 comprises two cup-shaped parts 5, 6 the rims of which face each other and the interiors of which are Separated by an intermediate wall 7 and which parts form cylinders for control pistons 8, 9 connected rigidly by a member 13 passing through the intermediate wall. The auxiliary reservoir 3 is charged by the pipe 2 past a packing sleeve 16 for the rod 13. When the pressure in the pipe 2 is diminished the pistons fall and a valve 21 is raised from a seat 24 on the valve casing to connect the reservoir 3 to the brake cylinder 4 until brake cylinder pressure has increased sufficiently to return the pistons to lap position. A graduated brake application is thus obtained and similarly a graduated release may be obtained by raising the pressure in the pipe 2, which raises the pistons and raises the hollow stem 13 from the valve 21, thus connecting the brake cylinder to atmosphere through a filter 11.
