[Class 110 (i)] [Also in Group XXVII] A fan 15, supplying cooling air to the cylinders of a radialcylinder two-stroke internalcombustion engine, carries, on a peripheral rim, helical blades rotating in a volute chamber 16 connected by pipes 19 to the cylinder exhaust ports, and thereby scavenges the cylinders by drawing out the exhaust gases. The fan is driven from the airscrew shaft 9 through epicyclic gearing.
