509,298. Variable - pitch propellers. DE HAVILLAND AIRCRAFT CO., Ltd., and THOMAS, F. M. Nov. 11, 1937, No. 31025. [Class 114] A variable-pitch airscrew having a hydraulic pitch-changing mechanism mounted for rotation with the airscrew, has a locking device for locking the pitch-changing mechanism operated by a separate hydraulic line. In one form, the locking device comprises a valve 30 moved axially by hydraulic pressure transmitted along the passage 27, which cuts off and therefore locks the hydraulic supply from the pipe 26 to the operating cylinder 4. Another modification is similar to that described in Specification. 509,300.
