509,106. Endless - track vehicles. ACIERIES DE HAINE-ST.-PIERRE & LESQUIN SOC. ANON. Oct. 14, 1938, No. 29819. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1937. [Class 79 (i)] A motor vehicle has a semi-rigid endlesstrack 3 and a driving wheel 2 provided with discs 8 engaging corresponding surfaces on some or all of the endless-track elements. In the construction shown the discs 8 engage lateral faces 10 on claws 11 of alternate track links 5. The rim 12 of the driving wheel runs on surfaces 12<1> on the track links. A beam 16 is pivoted on the driving shaft 1 and carries idler wheels 6, 7, the latter bearing on the ground-engaging portion of the track. The idler wheel 6 may also act as a load-carrying wheel. The spindles 13 of the wheels 6, 7 have squared ends 14 which can be inserted in the beam in notches slots 15, Fig. 3, to adjust the tension of ' the track. In a modification several driving wheels are provided, each disposed between a pair of load-carrying idler wheels.
