Abstract

508,144. Abdominal supports. TOLTON, W. July 16, 1938, No. 21126. [Class 81 (ii)] An abdominal support comprises a thin plate A of flexible spring steel, preferably perforated, as at B, and having a body-encircling belt C secured to it permanently or detachably at each end. The securing means may comprise a serrated-edged clip D for the belt, adjustably secured by bolts and nuts E in a slot F in the plate, or a single or multiple hook D<1> engaging a hole or holes F<1>. The plate may be substantially elliptical (as shown) or substantially rectangular with rounded corners, and is preferably, together with the fastening means, padded and covered by a detachable washable covering. Two pairs of slots F, differently spaced and positioned in the plate, may be provided for the alternative engagements of the belt, or for use when two belts. are provided.
