Abstract
507,685. Paper sacks. MEDWAY PAPER SACKS, Ltd., and WINSKILL, J. W. Feb. 25, 1938, No. 6013. [Class 94 (ii)] A muti-ply paper sack is formed from a blank having portions 13, 23, 33 removed from the plies 10, 20, 30 outside the fold links A-A B-B, of the blank, and portions 21, 31, 41, removed from the plies 20, 30, 40 within the fold lines, in stepwise formation. The ends 14<1>, 24<1>, 34<1>; 22<1>, 32<1>, 42<1> of the straight cuts 14, 24, 34; 22, 32, 42, are curved and cross the fold lines EC, DC ; HF, GF of the cross bottom, substantially at right angles. In a modification, the cuts 14<1>, 24<1>, 34' ; 22<1>, 32<1>, 42<1> are curved only as they cross the fold lines EC, DC ; HF, GF, being thereafter straight until the edge of the plies. In a further modification, the cuts 14<1>, 24<1>, 34<1> ; 22<1>, 32<1>, 42' are each curved to meet together respectively at the points E, D, H, G. In a still further modification, the cuts 14, 24, 34 ; 22, 32, 42 may be curved throughout their length.
