[Class 70] In compositions containing a soluble silicate and a powdered inorganic substance, such as lead oxide, aluminium oxide or silicate, felspar, silicon carbide, quartz or compounds of the alkaline earth metals, such as their sulphates the inorganic substance is treated to etch the surfaces with hydrofluoric acid with or without other acids, such as sulphuric or boric acid prior to mixing with the silicate solution. Specification 416,966 is referred to.
