505,165. Ceramic materials. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 28, 1938, No. 37629. Convention date, Dec. 30, 1937. [Classes 22 and 70] A dense ceramic body for electric insulation comprises titanium dioxide particles bonded together with -a non-clayey inorganic binder consisting of or containing calcium titanium silicate. The bond may also contain magnesium oxide, beryllium oxide, or mixtures of these two oxides. In an example, a mixture of 90 parts by weight, of titanium dioxide and 10 parts of calcium titanium silicate are milled together, moulded and fired between 1150 and 1450‹ C. In other examples, the bond comprises 5 or 7À5 per cent of calcium titanium silicate and 5 or 2À5 per cent of magnesium oxide or-beryllium oxide, or 3À4 per cent of calcium titanium silicate, 3À4 of magnesium oxide and 3À4 of beryllium oxide.
