Abstract
546,770. Spark plug insulators. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. May 2, 1941, No. 5705. Convention date, May 9, 1940. [Class 22] Spark plug insulators are made by sintering to a dense, non-porous state a finely pulverized mixture containing alumina 75-85, silica 10-25, and magnesia 1-9 per cent., e.g. the insulator may be composed of corundum 40, spinel 20, and mullite 40 per cent. Quartz may be added, forming corundum and magnesiumaluminium-silicate glass.
