Abstract
507,245. Air-conditioning apparatus. WHALEY, R. S. Dec. 24, 1937, Nos. 35774/37, and 11765/38. [Class 137] Air-conditioning apparatus comprises fans for directing two currents of air towards each other, and filtering, washing and heating devices. The air conditioning means are mounted on a stand 2 and contained within curved front and back walls 3, 4, and side walls 5. Two fans 12 draw in air through louvres 10, the air passing through holes in drums 20 which rotate and dip into a shallow water bath so that a film is formed over their surface and extends across the holes. The drums are loose on the spindle 19 and caused to rotate by vanes 11, and by friction from the spindle 19 driven by a motor 7. The opposed air currents pass through heating elements 8 to an outlet 15. A light 9 is positioned behind perforations 16 at the lower part of the front wall 3. The air is ozonized by a high-frequency low-glow bulb (not shown).
