Abstract

506,932. Suspending curtains. CLAY, A., and WICKER, J. C. Dec. 24, 1937, No. 35705. [Class 52 (v)] A bracket 7a for supporting a curtain rail 5a having a head comprising an upstanding g flange 5e and a horizontal flange 5f, is adapted for alternative attachment to a wall or to a ceiling by a flange 7e, and engages the head of the rail by vertical and horizontal slots 7b, 7c opening into a common cut-away portion 7d, the brackets being slid on from the end of the rail. The rail is formed of sheet metal by rolling and comprises a lower flange 5b for the runners 6 and vertical and horizontal attachment flanges 5e, 5f co-operating with the complementary slots 7b, 7c in the two depending flanges of the bracket 7a. The attachment part 7e of the bracket is bent at right angles, and adapted to be fixed either , to the wall as shown or to the ceiling, the flanges 5e, 5f then engaging with the slots 7c, .7b respectively.
