Convention dates, Aug. 22, 1936, Nov. 6, 1936, and Dec. 12, 1936. [Classes 22 and 70] Light, waterproof, cellular building-materials such as bricks or blocks are formed from a cement, lime, or plaster mix containing aluminium sulphate or an alum, a hypochlorite, and hydrogen peroxide. The alum is incorporated with the mixing water, and sodium or potassium hypochlorite is added after mixing. The hydrogen peroxide may be added finally, or with the alum. Optional additions comprise a manganese salt such as manganese dioxide or potassium permanganate, a ferrocyanide, a phenol, animal or vegetable colloids, fillers such as sand, pulverized blast furnace slag, or fibres, animal, vegetable, or mineral. The addition of potassium permanganate imparts hardness, particularly at the surface, and may give coloured effects.
