531,469. Building materials. LEFEBURE, V., SCOTT, K. T. B., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. May 3, 1939, No. 13247. [Class 70] Cellular material suitable for building blocks is made from a cement consisting of blast furnace slag, more than 10 per cent. of calcium sulphate and not more than 15 per cent. of a lime-containing or lime-producing exciter such as Portland cement clinker or lime, the cellular structure being obtained in known manner by incorporating preformed foam with the wet mix or by including gas-producing agents in the mix. Fillers, such as asbestos fibre, wood, cork or granulated slag, may be added. Examples are given using saponin as foaming agent, but gasproducing agents such as aluminium or zinc powder or alkaline solutions of peroxides may also be used.
