Abstract
505,954. Casting-machines. SANKEY & SONS, Ltd., J., and ALBERTINI, A. Sept. 7, 1938, No. 26119. [Class 83 (i)] Casting composite articles.-A stainless steel or other sheet metal vessel 11 is mounted on a fixed die part 2, a die part 7, having a bore to fit the vessel 11, is moved along guides 9 until arrested in the position shown by legs 12, and a die part 8, similar to the part 7, with a die part 6, which is a sliding fit in its bore, is also, moved into the position shown, springs or fluid pressure devices between the shoulder 18 and the die 8 pressing this .firmly against the die 7. Molten aluminium or its alloy or other metal is then poured in and the die 6 is forced by the screw 4 to compress the cast metal and increase its adhesion to the vessel 11. The dies 6, 7, 8 are then returned to the right, the dies 7, 8 are separated and the reinforced vessel is removed. In modifications, the device is arranged or the die 6 is operated by fluid pressure, cam or other means. Specification 505,955 is referred to.
