Abstract
564,082. Angular bending. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. June 4, 1943, No. 9004. Convention date, Aug. 12, 1942. [Class 83 (iv)] Formers.-A pipe - bending die comprises a pair of spaced metal side plates between which is secured a resin-bound fibre block formed with a working surface. A block 15 of common red fibre with a resin binding and provided with a channel 13 and a margin 23 between the channel and side plates is secured by rivets to the metal side plates 14 to form the bending former 10. This former is -provided with holes fitting over positioning plugs on the bending machine. The pipe 12 to be bent is previously filled with a low melting point alloy and is then bent round the former 10 by a block 11 carried by a lever, the block consisting of a metal channel containing a resin-bound fibre block 20.
