Abstract
504,687. Valve accessories. KLEIN, SCHANZLIN, & BECKER AKT.-GES. June 29, 1938, No. 19258. Convention date, June 29, 1937. [Class 135] The closure member' 1 of a stop valve is detachably secured to the valve spindle 6 by means of a bolt 3 inserted in a transverse throughbore 2 and slotted on one side to receive the valve spindle 6, the through-bore being of circular section and bolt of approximately semicircular section. The bolt embraces a grooved part 12 of the spindle and is retained in place by an expanding ring 7, or by a split pin or the like. Due to the play s between the bolt and the spindle collar 5, the bolt does not remain permanently in contact with the wall of the bore 2. The valve member has a conical surface 9 which engages a neck 8 on the valve cover in the open position. , According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the bore need not extend completely through the valve member and may be of square section. The bolt may have a projection to facilitate its removal by means of pliers. 'This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
