Abstract

511,312. Vehicle couplings. ISAACS, A. J. May 4, 1938, No. 13308. [Class 103 (v)] In a ball-and-socket coupling for vehicles of the kind in which the ball 12 is inserted into a lateral aperture 11 in a tubular member 10 and is clamped between a fixed seating 16 and an adjustable seating 17, the member 17 is adapted to slide within the cylinder 10 and is adjusted by means of an internally threaded sleeve 18 working on the outside of the cylinder 10 and provided with an annular groove 21 into which project pins 19 carried by the member 17 and passing through slots 20 in the cylinder 10. Arms 22 may be fitted on the sleeve 18 to facilitate its actuation, and a clamping screw 23 may be provided to lock it in the clamping position.
