501,750. Tyre valves ; moulding. JENKINS BROS. Sept. 2, 1937, No. 24051. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1936. [Class 135] [Also in Group V] A tyre valve comprises a rubber stem 10 with a metal insert 13 at the tip which is provided with a flange 15 forming a backing for a seat 16 for an inwardly opening valve member 18. The valve is held closed by a spring 22 and is provided with a head 20 which normally fills the slightly restricted mouth of the insert 13 to prevent the ingress of dust and moisture, whilst being freely slidable therein to allow the valve 18 to assume its fully seated position. In a modification, the spring is held against the underside of the valve by an abutment inserted in the bore of the stem. Specification 440,840 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a three-part die 42, 43, 44, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), for moulding the rubber stems with the inserts 13 in position. The part 42 carries a pin 46 for the bore of the stem which is guided by a tubular fitting 45<1> which also serves to position the insert 13. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
