Abstract

518,938. Spectacle frames. KAHNE, E., and KAHNE, M., (trading as KAHNE & SOHNE, T.). Sept. 9, 1938, Nos. 26333 and 26334. Convention dates, April 4, and July 25. [Class 97 (i)] Nose pads are made separately from the frame and are subsequently, inserted into engagement with ,recesses therein, thereby facilitating choice of pads suitable for the wearer. The pads may be held in the recesses by jamming, dovetailing, cementing, welding &c. and further secured if desired by riveting or screwing. The engaging surfaces may be corrugated to improve adhesion. Fig. 5 shows in section a pad dovetailed into the side of a rim, but the recess may be formed in the rear of the rim. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also a nose pad pivotally mounted on the rim and bearing yieldingly against a spring resting in a recess in the rim. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
