[Class 79 (iii)] The propelling engine 7 of a bogie truck for railway motor vehicles is rendered accessible by mounting it outside the truck frame 1 on bearers 5 projecting from the front wall of the frame. An additional engine 8 may be similarly arranged on bearers 6 at the rear of the truck. The engines are enclosed by bonnets 10, and inspection platforms 11 are arranged alongside the engines on the bearers 5, 6, Access to the engines is obtained through manholes in the floor of the vehicle body. Gearing 9 connects both engines with one or both axles 2, 3. Clutches may be provided to enable the engines to be used independently.
