Abstract

453,387. Animal - carrying vehicles. NUGENT, H. C., Windsor House, Lambourn, Berkshire. Nov. 1, 1935, No. 30276. [Class 108 (i)] An animal - carrying vehicle is arranged so that the animal faces forwards with its hind legs in front of the rear axle mounted on a chassis having the engine arranged behind the rear axle. The vehicle as shown is divided into three sections 5, 6, 7, the front section 5 having provision for the driver and grooms, the second section 6 containing two stalls 17, 18 for the horses, a swinging division 16 being provided, and a rear section 7 containing the engine 8, and gear box, a horizontal partition 24 being provided to form a luggage &c. compartment. The chassis side members are shaped as shown and the rear wheels are driven from the engine 8 through a differential 31 and a universal coupling as described in Specification 453,388. The horses stalls are closed by doors 21 and a ramp 23 is provided. Doors 31 are provided below the chest rails 3 and mangers 14, 15 are also provided.
