559,933. Tank vehicles. THOMPSON BROS. (BILSTON), Ltd., and THOMPSON, H.J. Nov. 25, 1942, No. 16690. [Class 108 (i)] The tank of a trailer tank vehicle without a chassis frame comprises a rear main part C of round or oval cross-section (the latter with its major axis horizontal) and a front part D of similar crosssection, but of smaller vertical dimension, rigidly connected to the main part and having its top part in line with the top of the main part so that a deep step is left at the underside of the forward part to allow space for the turntable E, e and rear wheels of the towing vehicle B. Partitions divide the tank into compartments and a front wall c and flanged plates such as d<SP>3</SP>, c<SP>3</SP> strengthen the junction between the tank parts. An internal channel G with ribs g strengthens the tank where supported by the rear wheels ; in a modification ribs are welded to the inside of the tank and a plate welded on the outside over the ribs.
