Abstract
599,240. Luggage receptacles. BOCK, H. E. Nov. 14, 1945, No. 30453. [Class 103 (ii)] A vehicle body 2 having a rear luggage compartment 3 provided with a door 4 includes an extension 6 to the luggage compartment comprising a floor 7, walls 8 and rear wall 9. The extension 6 is open at the front and top and pivots about pins 11 passing through the walls 8 and plates 12 welded to these walls, the pins 11 are secured to the body walls 15 by plate heads 13 welded thereto. The extension 6 may thus be swung about the axis 11-11 to a position within the luggage compartment 3 permitting the door 4 to be shut. The inverted bottom 7 of the extension 6 then forms a platform for luggage, while the space below the bottom 7 may also receive goods.
