959,561. Motor vehicles. SIMCA. June 10, 1960 [Jan. 22, 1960], No. 20456/60. Heading B7H. A water-cooled engine having horizontal cylinders is disposed at the rear of a motor vehicle beneath its luggage compartment, the radiator for the engine being disposed at the front of the vehicle together with an electric fan, a second luggage compartment also being formed at the front of the vehicle. The floor 8 of the rear luggage compartment may include an inspection panel 10 allowing access to the engine 2 which drives the wheels 3 through a clutch 4, gear-box 5 and differential 6. Pipes 15 and 16, which connect the radiator 12 with the engine 2 may be connected to the vehicle heater. The electric fan 13 is driven by a motor 14. The petrol tank 17 is disposed adjacent the radiator which may be to one side of the vehicle. The spare wheel may be disposed beneath the petrol tank and /or beneath the radiator. The front luggage compartment is indicated at 21.
