Abstract

504,318. Hardening pipes &c. BARK, F., and BRESSE, H. Feb. 7, 1938, No. 3765. [Class 72] The interior of tubes 2 and similar hollow bodies are hardened by the spraying of liquid thereon as they an lowered, from the per forated upper closed end 7 of a pipe 3 detach ably connected to a pipe 4 in turn connected to a pump 5 which sucks liquid out of a container 1 by a pipe 6. A screer or funnel 8 is mounted on the tube 3 to direct the cooling liquid on to the walls of the pipe &c and guides 9, 10 are also provided on the tube and the screen. The liquid in the container 1 does not contact with the pipe &c. 3.
