Abstract

Apparatus for degassing molten steel in a ladle 1 under vacuum comprises a vacuum pipe 5 connected to the ladle hood 2 by a pipe 4 provided with a water spray cooling nozzle 6 supplied by suction from a small water container 7. The single pipe 5 may be replaced by several thin flexible tubes each with a spray cooling device.
