Abstract

503,565. Pliers. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., and GUEST, E. F: Dec. 7, 1937, No. 33822. [Class 61 (ii)] A tool for expanding elastic, rubber, &c. sleeves or caps for fitting them on the ends of electric conductors &c. comprises an apertured disc with flange 2 and handle 3 and a second apertured disc 5 rotatable within the flange 2 by another handle 6, the two handles being normally held apart by a spring 7. Three or more jaws 11 for expanding the elastic sleeve 13 project from radially, arranged bars 10 slidably guided in slots in a ring 12 carried by the disc 5 and jointed to pairs of elbow links 8, 9, the ends of each pair of links being pivoted respectively to the discs 5 so that when the handles are gripped together the centre joints of the elbow links move outwards and the jaws 11 move radially apart.
