Abstract
502,950. Litters. SEE FABRIKS AKTIEBOLAG. Oct. 18, 1938, No. 31072. Contention date, Oct. 18, 1937. [Class 108 (i)] An ambulance stretcher or litter adapted to be quickly taken to pieces or assembled comprises two-part, steel, side rods 1 with carrying handles, transverse stays 3, and legs 4, each leg being fixed to the bottom of a bifurcated gripping member 6 to one side of which the end of the adjacent stay 4 is also fixed, the rods 1 being locked automatically, e.g. by spring-pressed pawls 7, in the gripping members 6 after insertion therein and being prevented' from moving longitudinally by abutments such as flanges 10 on the rods co-operating with the members 6. As shown, square-shaped sleeves 9 are attached to the rods for insertion in similarly-shaped members 6 and are guided into the members by offset portions 6x, the hooks 8 of the pawls 7 being moved outwardly by the sleeves until the latter are in place when the hooks automatically snap back into locking position. The locking members may be arranged on the sleeves 9 instead of on the members 6.
