Abstract

400,787. Trestles. BARR, J., 6, Main Street, Bothwell, Lanarkshire. Nov. 19,. 1932, No. 32760. [Class 52 (v).] A trestle comprises foldable A- shaped ends 1 and a top horizontal connecting bar 7 provided with downwardly extending members 6 adapted to fit between pairs of links 2 connecting the legs and be gripped between the inner faces 4 of the upper ends of the legs, the members 6 having means co-operating with projection. means such as shoulders 5 on the inner faces 4 to positively and removably support the bar 7. The legs are maintained in their open position by a pivoted cross member 3 and the end supports are joined by horizontal bars 10- As shown, the members 6 have shoulders 8 cooperating with the shoulders 5. A number of interchangeable cross members 7 may be provided each with downwardly extending members of different lengths. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the members 6 are provided with teeth 12 protected by sheet metal and a pawl 15 is pivoted in a slot 14 passing through the top of one leg and engages one of the teeth. The pawl may be replaced by a sliding spring- pressed bolt.
