500,973. Ventilators. KURTH, F. J. Aug. 19, 1937, No. 22789. Convention date, Aug. 24, 1936. [Class 137] Air distributing devices comprising spaced member 2, which divide up the air flow through a conduit 1, are provided with means for reducing vibration and preventing noise, consisting of flanges or beads 4, or reinforcing elements such as 5, formed on or attached to the inner edges of the members 2. The outer edges may also lie reinforced at 8, and facings 6 of felt or other sound-deadening material may be provided. The flanges 4 or the elements 5 are preferably streamlined, and the elements 5 may be made from felt or the like, and a felt facing 7 is provided at the junction between the duct 1 and the outer member 2. Holes 9 may be formed in the members to equalize the air pressure in the spaces between them. A baffle 10 may be used to blank off a portion of the air passages which may be formed between the convolutions of a spiral member.
