498,627. Distributing music &c. LORENZ AKT.-GES., C. Nov. 26, 1937, No. 32725. Convention date, Nov. 27, 1936. [Class 40 (iv)] In the distribution of programmes at highfrequency over lines, for example telephone lines, the lines are grouped in accordance with their attenuation, those having the largest attenuation being fed from the power amplifier or group of transmitters 1 via a single matching transformer 2, those of the next group via transformers 2, 4 in tandem and those of the next via transformers 2, 4, 6. Each of the lines is given a standard impedance looking from the transformer secondaries by the provision of a filter A. The ratios of the transformers are chosen so that their effective impedance looking from the transmitter is the same as the standard impedance of a single line in the preceding group. The groups may comprise sub-groups associated through additional transformers connected in place of one or more of the filters A. The lines are fed symmetrically to avoid induction on other lines.
