Abstract
498,180. Window fastenings. PERSSON, E. S. Sept. 22, 1937, No. 25710. Convention date, June 29. [Class 44] In a locking device for pivoted windows, doors, and the like having two locking bars 4a, 4b mounted in a slot in an edge of the frame parallel to the pivotal axis and movable obliquely to engage a slot in the sash, toothed wheels 36, 37 are provided between the ends of the bars, the wheels meshing with each other as well as with the too hed ends 33 of the bars and an operating handle being provided on one of the wheels. Bars 5, perpendicular to the pivotal axis, are adjustably connected to the bars 4a, 4b by projections 32 on the latter engaging notches in the former. Pins (not shown) engage slots 16 in the bars to guide them. A guard 38 excludes dust from the gearing. The bars may be of any crosssectional slope and may be mounted in the sash instead of in the frame.
