Abstract
497,563. Thermionic valves. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 10, 1938, No. 17321. Convention date, July 16, 1937. [Class 39 (i)] The cathode 12 is supported by a flexible ring 15 of quartz or mica or of metal with insulating insets 20, 21 ; stops 16 welded to the cathode hold it in place in the ring. This is supported from rods 13<1>, 13<2> joined by sleeves 14, the anodes 11 being carried on the rods 13<2>. The leads 17 to the cathode have flexible links 18. The anodes as shown are flat parallel plates, but they may be semicylindrical. When used as a magnetron a field is produced by the magnet with poles 19.
