Abstract

496,036. Gas-proof chambers. HAMILTON MOTORS (LONDON), Ltd., and BALLEY, R. A. June 15, 1938, No. 17855. [Class 20 (i)] A collapsable gas-proof shelter comprises rigid end walls A, B, connected by flexible side, top, and bottom walls C of gas-proof fabric and a gas-proof door in one end wall. The ends may be connected by folding bars D which maintain the shelter in open position, and when closed the flexible material is received within the end walls which form a box. Floor boards E may be hinged to each end wall, and fold down when the shelter is extended to protect the flexible bottom. An airlock, and also means for supplying fresh air and exhausting vitiated air for the shelter, may be provided. One of the rigid end walls may have castors attached to assist its movement and the other may be fixed around an aperture in the wall of a room. In a modification, a central rigid division is provided connected by flexible material to opposed rigid ends, which collapse on to the central division.
