Abstract
495,932. Circular looms. SOC. A.R.L. ETABLISSEMENTS ROTATISS. Feb. 26, 1938, No. 6166. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1937. [Class 142 (ii)] Each shuttle is driven by means of an endless belt &c. 21, Figs. 1 and 4, which cooperates through the shed of the warp threads 5 with a roller 22 freely rotating on the shuttle, or alternatively by a roller 22<1>, Fig. 6, which co-operates with an endless belt 21<1> on the shuttle. The belt 21 is carried by pulleys 19, 20 on supports &c. 12, 14 on a platform 7 driven bodily around the loom on ball bearings 8 by helicoidal gearing 10, 11 and a driving shaft 9. The shaft 13 to which the pulley 19 is fixed carries a coned pinion 15 engaging a fixed toothed crown 16 on the central frame, the pulley 20 being thereby rotated and driving the belt so that the warp threads are not displaced laterally. The belt may be of round, square, trapezoidal or flat section and may have grooves or cells for housing the warp threads, or may be replaced by an articulated chain. It may be driven by both pulleys. A friction roller or a belt may be used for driving the pulley. Several shuttles may be driven by the same belt.
