Abstract
613,115. Spinning &c. yarn. ATELIERS HOUGET, SOC. ANON. VERVIETOISE POUR LA CONSTRUCTION DE MACHINES. Sept. 15, 1945, No. 23879. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1941. [Classes 120(ii) and 120(iii)] In a continuous spinning &c. machine of the type in which the drawing rollers are driven at a speed in direct proportion to the count of the yarn the front drawing rollers feeding the yarn, to the spindles, and the spindles are driven in parallel from a common shaft through two mechanical change speed gear trains positively coupled by their control pinions so that a shaft driven by one train rotates at maximum speed when a shaft driven by the other train rotates at minimum speed. The motor shaft 13, through sprockets 15, 21, drives chains 14, 20 which pass over tensioning sprockets 17, 23 and drive shafts 16', 22<SP>1</SP> of change speed gear boxes' 18, 19, the output shafts of which are 28, 29. The gear boxes are coupled by a chain and sprockets 24, 25, 26, the sprocket 25 being associated with an indicator 27 marked in terms of twist. The shaft 28, through a chain 30 and through gears 5-12 drives the drawing roller 1 and the feed roller 2. The gear 9 is a change gear so that the amount of draft may be adjusted. The shaft 29, through a chain 31, drives the drum 32 from which the spindles are driven.
