Abstract
495,865. Spray carburetters. LETFUSS, W., and STADLER, M. Feb. 18, 1937, No. 4862. Void. Convention date, Feb. 20,1936. [Class 7 (iii)] The supply of aerating air, to the passage 13 behind the fuel nozzle, is controlled by a hit- and-miss valve on the spindle of the main throttle valve 28. This valve comprises a pear-shaped port 311, or circular ports of diminishing size, in the wall of an annular chamber round the spindle, and is arranged to be closed when the main throttle is fullyopened. It is supplied by a passage 211 from the atmosphere, or by a passage leading from a port 21 below the choke tube, which may comprise a pair of spring plates 22 fixed at their upper ends. The nozzle comprises a series of orifices 14<1> controlled by a needle valve 15. A branch of the passage for the aerating air extends to the slow-running nozzle 17 which is thus supplied with fuel. A fuel well 9 and a compensating-air tube 10 having an air filter 12 are provided.
