495,580. Strap fastenings. HOSKING, H. G. W. June 21, 1937, No. 17287. [Class 44] A strap fastening comprises a plate 1 secured to one strap end 7 and provided with an upturned end 4 with a slot 6, and a plate 2 provided with a series of slots 12 and with a leather tongue 14 secured thereto as by rivets. Plate 2 is secured to the other strap end 13. The end 4 is inserted from below through a selected slot 12 and is secured by passing the tongue 14 through slot 6 which is exposed above the surface of plate 2. Part 4 is rounded as shown, and curbed as seen in side view, its concave face being towards or away from strap end 7. Alternatively, the tongue may be of metal or may be replaced by a split pin.
