Abstract

Chlorinated paraffin wax is stabilized by incorporating therewith a small proportion, e.g. 0,5 to 1,0 per cent, of a hydrocarbon of the pinene or terpene group or a mixture thereof. Turpentine, pinene, limonene and phellandrene are specified. In the example chlorinated paraffin wax containing 41 per cent chlorine is stabilized with 1 per cent of oil of turpentine and its stability compared with that of the untreated substance.
