Abstract

492,995. Vehicle wheels. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and DAW, R. F. June 17, 1937, No. 16828. [Classes 144 (i) and 144 (ii)] A tractor wheel comprises a coned disc 18 having a centre-portion 5 detachably secured to, or formed integral with, a mounting-hub 1, and a peripheral portion 21 carrying strakemembers 24, 30 projecting beyond and/or over the tyre 25. The tyre-carrying rim 11 is clamped between a rib or series of lugs 19 or the disc 18 and taper-brackets 16 engaging a wedge seating (or seatings) 12 on the inner periphery of the rim. In the construction shown, the strakes comprise triangular groundengaging plates 30 detachably secured to anglepieces 24 bolted to, and abutting flanges 29 on, the wheel-portion 21.
