Abstract
492,357. Electric furnaces. SOC. GENERALE D'APPLICATIONS ELECTROTHERMIQUES. Dec. 14, 1936, No. 34272. Void. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1935. [Class 39 (iii)] The heating device of a furnace 1 comprises a movable conductor 7 arranged in a tubular conductor 10 with a closed bottom containing resistance material 8<1>. An arc is struck between the conductor 7 and the material 81. The conductor 10 may consist of a simple tube. An induction coil 17 surrounds the furnace.
