Abstract

492,346. Filing papers. MANN, A., and COPELAND - CHATTERS ON CO., Ltd. March 19, 1937, No. 8142. [Class 146 (i)] In visible - index files comprising hinged separator cards or pockets arranged in stepped formation for the reception of papers, on panels hinged together bookwise, the book comprises two stiff boards 1, 2 hinged to a stiff back member 3 to form a cover, and along each edge of each board is fixed by headed pins a metal strip 5 having struck-up tongues 6 for engagement through slots in a flanged metal strip 8, whereby the strips 8 are secured to the boards. The flanges 9 of the strips 8 receive the projecting ends of the flexible strips to which the separator cards are hinged in the usual manner. A hinged flap 16 adapted to be over the. bottom pockets of each panel is provided. Where more than two boards are hinged to the back member, the inner boards may have a file on each face thereof.
